The Week Before

Start with outfits. Pick everyone's look, try it all on together, and make sure everything is clean, pressed, and actually fits. Coordinating colors matters more than matching exactly, so aim for a palette of two or three complementary tones rather than identical outfits. Lay everything out a few days before so you are not scrambling the morning of. Also check the weather forecast and have a loose backup plan in mind, though keep in mind that Sparq shoots in most conditions including light rain and overcast days, so do not cancel just because the forecast looks imperfect.

Two to Three Days Before

Confirm your session time and location from your booking email. Pull up the location on Google Maps so you know where you are going and how long it takes to get there. Check parking notes for your specific location since some spots in busy markets like Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Denver fill up quickly on weekends. If you have young kids, start thinking about nap timing. A well-rested child at a session is a different experience than a tired one.

The Day Of

Eat a real meal before you go. Hungry families are cranky families, and that shows up in photos. Give yourself enough time to arrive five to ten minutes early so everyone can settle in before the session starts. Bring a small bag with water, snacks for after the session, a hair tie or brush, and a backup outfit for young kids in case of spills. Leave the stress at home. Your photographer will guide you through everything once you arrive.

What to Expect During Your Session

After Your Session

Your color-corrected gallery will be delivered to a private online link within 5 business days.
